Title: More Questions
Post by: Chris M on October 08, 2013, 10:12:12 AM
Hi All

I've just been looking at my new Club Tour frameset while planning the build and noticed something I'd missed before; does the Club Tour need a separate derailleur hanger or does the derailleur attach directly to the frame? I'm going to fit a Shimano 9 speed XT Shadow from my Trek. I've looked at built up bikes on the SJS site but it's still not clear.
I usually carry out my own servicing but have never built a bike up from scratch so am coming across quite a few things that are new to me. The other question is what size seat bolt do I need to buy so I can carry a replacement? Reading through the forum this seems to be a weak link and would like to be prepared.

Thanks in advance

Chris

This photo of the Club Tour frameset shows that it has a derailleur hanger on the frame.

Thanks il padrone, that's the bit I wasn't sure about; whether I needed to attach directly to that part of the frame or fit a hanger to it. I take it from your answer that the derailleur attaches directly to the built in hanger?
