Hi, The frames below we have left from when we used to build frames in the UK, all are bare metal, contact me if you need any further details on the sizing. Note some have no forks, and 2 of them have paint on.

This looks like an Aladin's cave to me :) If I hadn't sold my Mk1 Nomad some serious transplant surgery might have been the order of the day.
-
There's some really nice frames in there...!
Best,
Dan.

Must resist !!
The XTCs from late 90's are the best thorn made I think.
-
Anyone sourced an XTC brochure link? I got a 'The Page Cannot Be Found' outcome.

not one of those frames would fit me ;D ;D

Ian, the Internet Wayback Machine archive *index* for thorncyces.co.uk is down for the moment, the latest available archive being 2013.
A number of sites are being hit by hackers this week and last, particularly open-source sites.
Members are reminded it is an Awfully Good Idea to change passwords periodically.
For xTc info, this will get you real close: http://web.archive.org/web/20041209071419/http://www.sjscycles.com/thorn/26solobrochure2002/solop10.asp
According to my 2001 Edition of Open Road's Encycleopedia, the xTc (Ecstacy?) was described as "...a light all-round tourer, suitable for long day-rides, moderate off-road use, and lightweight cycle-camping". In contrast, the eXp was described as "...a true workhorse, perfectly balanced with a full load of luggage".
At the time, the line also included the Nemesis, "...an ultra-lightweight sports tourer for those who want a quick-handling, multi-function machine. With a short wheelbase lugless sealed-tube frame, it responds with lightning-quick, road-racer handling -- yet it's tough enough to perform manoeuvres you'd never think of attempting on a racer. Couriers, apparently, love it!".
Other models at that time included the Nomad, Audax, Brevet, Club Tour, six tandems, and two triplets.
Best,
Dan.

Hi All!
Here we go...IWM is back up, so here's the "full-format" xTc brochure as a PDF download:
http://web.archive.org/web/20060321060909/http://www.sjscycles.com/thornwebsite/thornpdf/ThornxTc853BroHiRes.pdf
Page 2 photos show the frame unpainted, "in the buff" so you can see the brass fillets and such, much like the bare frames Dave has on offer at the moment.
Order form is here:

Best,
Dan. (...who understands why Jawine likes her xTc so much!)

What is the difference between the audax 853 and the audax classic frame?
-
Hi Sjacka!
Brochures for each are in the archive here: http://www.thorncycles.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=6975.0
...The descriptions include brochure photos so you can see what they would look like in the original livery.
Best,
Dan

Just ordered one of the very last bare metal XTC frames Thorn have in stock. There are a couple of XTCs, one each of Audax Classic, EXP and Cyclosportif, and they all are further reduced by £100 from the original sale prices Dave posted above. The XTC was £199, terrific value given it's the best bike frame ever! ;)
All these frames are listed here: http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/page/find/?name=bare%20metal&page=1

Some more found and added including a bargain Cyclosportif with missing forks

I have been looking at this frame and am having fantasies of a new purpose sprayed frame! Alas I cannot find a brochure with the sizing information for the XTC classic lugged frame. Can anyone provide some dimensions for this frame? I am 6'2" rider. Thanks in advance.
-
Don't know about the XTC Classic brochure and have never seen one in flesh, but I'm 6'2'' and had a 595s XTC with drops - a perfect fit. The one I got now is 595m and will build up with straight bars. The 590m they're selling should be a good fir for you, but best is to just call Dave at SJSC and he'll explain it best.
-
Just bought one of the clearance frames, not bare metal, this is a red Raven Tour.
It will (at least initially) be built up for utility use (pulling trailer, shopping, etc.) mainly using parts I already have, including a Nexus 8 hub (less grief than a Rohloff if it gets stolen).
-
All congratulations on the new frames, Martin and Kuba; what a thrill!
Can't wait to see photos of them in the gallery.
Best,
Dan.
-
been years since i posted but I just bought one of the classic xtc's ;D nearly bought one a few weeks ago at £299 so pretty chuffed i held off
a couple of posts up it was asked if anyone knew the sizing on the xtc lugged frames, this is what i used to establish it's pretty much identical to my 585 sherpa http://web.archive.org/web/20010309203941/http://sjscycles.com/26solobrochure/solobrochurewebp18.htm (http://web.archive.org/web/20010309203941/http://sjscycles.com/26solobrochure/solobrochurewebp18.htm) hit the index and most of the details are there to, seems 1.75 tyres should work though not recommended

Does anybody know the virtual top tube on the 590M classic?
And the 590M/L other one?
The manfriend is tempted but I can only find 59-5 M/L in the brochure.
He's 6"1' with a 33" inseam.
(and I may go for the 455M it's a bit low but sure...spacers are acceptable on tourers ;)
