Not a single bid on it and the auction ends today. Great buy for someone less gibbonesque than I. :)

£500 for a nice bike .

Just one bid? I can't figure why this particular bike didn't garner more interest. Looked very nice. Only thing I can think of it is it was an "L" frame mated with drop 'bars, but would have been ideal for a straight/comfort bar conversion at little cost. Too, the listing was a little lean on detailed photos.
Ah, me. From the seller's standpoint, a good lesson to either offer with a reasonable reserve or start the bidding at the minimum acceptable price. From the buyer's standpoint, a bargain; good on 'em!
So much of eBay is timing, market mood, and bidding frenzy -- or not. It can be like trying to catch lightning in a bottle to match a high price there. I remember selling a tried-once Brooks Flyer for USD$169...and then getting only USD$64 for a NOS example sold right after.
Best,
Dan.

I dont think the comment about the wheels from another bike would have helped

Yeah, I think you're right, Andy; that would be a stopper for many unless they did their own wheel work and even then... <nods>.
Best,
Dan.

I considered as a spare but if you add 200 for a set of wheels it is getting expensive
