Title: Folding Thorns

Any experience or feedback re Thorn with couplings to let it be folded: thought is staying in b and b or hotel on tour and making it easier to keep bike safe with you

Or would a proper folder like Airnimal be better??

Folding works fine, but normally you can take the bike inside or in a shed or garage. I never had any problems with that. In southern europe we often have it in the room.
