Title: raven bottom bracket..
Post by: redcogs on September 09, 2005, 09:41:11 AM
Hi.  I'm transferring a rohloff speedhub from an alu framed bike to a Raven frame.  Could anyone comment on whether it is best to fit the bottom bracket bearing to the Raven whilst the EBB is in the frame, or should the EBB alloy insert be removed from the bike to fit the bearing.

I realise this is a pretty basic question, but I have no previous experience on this model, and I'm anxious not to damage the EBB alloy insert by doing anything 'hamfistedly'.

Cheers.

I wouldn't have thought it mattered, I can't see how you'd do any damage either way, though I've yet to do it.  I'd stick it in the bike and treat it as any other BB. If in doubt ring SJS.

It is best if you thighten the eccentric in the frame first, then install the bottom bracket in the normal way....
