Now that I like.
How are you finding the combination of disc brake at the rear (is it a BB7?) and dual pivot at the front?

Welcome to the Forum, T, and -- Wowza! -- what an entrance!
That is simply a gorgeous bike, and it is just terrific to have a Mercury owner here! I'm sure you'll be asked many questions about it, and we're looking forward to more ride reports and photos, of course.
Best,
Dan. ("Mercury" -- apt name for something that looks so, so f-a-s-t!)

It really is a lovely bike to ride very surefooted comfortable and quick, it suits the purpose I wanted it for, initially winter riding for fun and commuting to work.
Most of my riding involves narrow twisting, hilly country lanes that never seem to dry in winter so the combination of rear disc (yes it is a BB7) and calliper front works well for me.
It was a pleasure dealing with Andy and the team at Thorn having this bike spec'ed for me.

Any idea what the final weight is? Brilliant looking bike by the way.

Spotted a review of the Mercury in CW. It wins the group test! http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/tech/bikes/129431/5/touring-bikes-grouptest.html
