Hello all,
After having bought a Sherpa recently, it is now time to put my very nice Thorn Commutour on the market.
The bike is located in Bristol, UK. It can be seen upon request.
The pictures can be seen in my presentation post here (http://www.thorncycles.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=4871.0).
The bike comes with SKS mudguards that can be fitted with narrower tyres (all bolts included).
Feel free to ask any question.
Price: £450

A fine-looking, do-all bike bound to be someone's dream come true. It looks very nice in matching all-black.
Best of luck to all parties,
Dan.

Nice listing; glad you went with a reserve. The low initial bid should help.
Best of luck!
Dan.

Just to let you know, reserve is £299.

Yikes, £50 postage? No doubt no issue for the winning bidder but unless you get very good service/free shipping insurance I wonder if they aren't ripping you off.
Happy selling!
-
I thought I put £35 for postage, sorry but I don't understand your message...
Regards,
-
So, the text says: The bike can be shipped to the UK (p&p £50). and the shipping says £35. Must be typo :)
-
oops :o, you're right
Thanks!

Relisted since ebay did not like my title... Look for Thorn Commutour on their search engine.

Thanks so much for the followup, complete with price; very thoughtful of you, and a possible guide for others in setting prices.
I'm sitting on a several frames, one complete bike, and a mound of near-mint and some NOS bike parts, but thinking I might fare better on eBay in early Spring, rather than going toward the dead of Winter. Is there still a market for NIP SunTour Superbe brake hoods, wrong-width-for-me Bontrager 'bars, cue sheet holders from the late 1950s, fitted-but-not-used Schwalbe Marathon Pluses (mudguard clearance issues), Tubus and Surly pannier racks, and custom-riveted, barely broken-in B.17s? We'll see soon enough as the months roll by. Trying to get the timing right between the cold-basement winters and the spring project bike-builders. Meantime, my garage is getting crowded.
Glad this one sold for you, Blue. Wish it had been more, but this was something; a very nice-looking bike for a good price to the buyer.
Best,
Dan.

Happy for you it sold no doubt will get a happy new owner, if it rides anything like the XTC of that age the owner will go "Ooooh comfy, I love this bike".
Dan, you'd be surprised, vintage parts to fix up old bikes can go for mad money in the UK :)
