Title: marathon tyre pressures
Post by: nomis on February 11, 2005, 08:32:23 PM
I have just got a pair of marathon kevlar 26x1.75 for my xtc. The pressure max is 70psi, but I have noticed on this forum that people have put 100psi in them, is this wise?

not sure about the 1.75s, but the 1.5s take 100 psi.  I am riding Panracer 1.75s (high-roads) at the moment and they recommend 70 but take 100 easily and feel a bit faster and more responsive at the higher pressure.  Not had a problem with it yet...

I normally use about 80-85 in the rear and 75-80 in the front. I've tried 90 but this is too hard unladen. I've just had to replace my rear tyre due to a nastly bulge after 3800 miles but believe this was caused by scuffing the sidewall a few hundred miles back on a rocky bridleway.
