Title: Thorn Cable's

On Thorn Nomad do you all run STD brake cable's or Over size thought the cable's mounts?

I just used normal brake cables - stainless steel ones of course.

But I was meaning the outer cable, as STD outer cable's have a little room in the cable mount hole's?
I'm thinking to put some tape around the cable's to stop the cable's moving around in the mount's

All my cable housings are standard brake housing. The rear brake passes through guides a bit loosely but has no problem with moving. It is almost a straight run to the rear brake noodle, so not much tendency to shift. The gear housings are supplied by Rohloff - similar standard brake housing and a touch loose in the guides. The Thorn Nomad has stainless steel cable guides to ensure any movement that will rub off paint will not lead to corrosion.

On my Raven Tour the gear and brake cable rubbed through the outer protective plastic of my first set of cables at the front cable guides.  On my second set of cables I put some heat shrink around the outers to protect the cables at that point.  So far it has worked well.

Thank's I was thinking about putting on clear heat shrink (hard wearing) on the Rohloff and Brake cable outer's, to stop wear and too stop cables moving around.
I was only going to try tape to see if it would work  ???
