Title: Aussie rough stuff
Post by: il padrone on February 24, 2012, 01:01:56 PM
Following on from the discussion on the South Lake thread, I thought I'd post up some photos of the sort of rough stuff touring our club gets up to in the Victorian and NSW high country.

The trip is a bit dated, being from Jan 2005, but it was memorable, especially for the descent of the Nine Mile Pinch - descends 900m in 4.5kms. We do tend to live for these types of back-track tours.

Then back in 2010 Rob and I had a big dose of rough stuff on the Mawson Trail (http://travel.webshots.com/album/579067475KzDrOX), Akaroola (http://sports.webshots.com/album/579522790GbgSNo) and the Oodnadatta Track (http://sports.webshots.com/album/579510318ovrlOa).

Pete,

I'm so glad you posted these terrific photos! Looks a bit like the riding I do in my preferred locales. Following-up on each of your included links and enjoying them greatly. May have to save a couple as a reward at break-time (the perils of leaving a "Thorn Forum" window open on my desktop while I work...).

Wonderful stuff! Thanks!

Best,

Dan.

Damn it. All of those old photos have gone with the lapse of my Webshots account  :(

Here is something to delight hopefully with a slideshow of Kangaroo Island
