Any suggestions? My front XT (left) shifter on the Sherpa has been getting stiffer to move up gear, with the thumb shift needing pulled back in to place between each shift. The bike is three years old, has a new cable and the derailier greased and free. Is it possible to service the shifter?
best wishes

Hi,
you could try removing the cable and see how the shifter operates. if it clicks up and down normally then the problem is not the shifter .

cheers Bob, removed the cable. WD40'd the inside of the shifter.
The shifter, with thumb - going up gears 1 - 2, still relies on the lever to be pulled back into correct position after gear change to enable shift from 2 - 3. For some reason, the lever is not as free to move as it should be/ once was.
Might have to look out for a left side XT shifter for sale ! :-\
