Hello and Welcome to Club Tour!
John.

Looks good Mike 59,
Is that a SJS 'off the shelf' Club Tour, or did you build it up yourself?
I've had one for about 5 years and I'm quite happy with it, although I sometimes think it's heavier than it needs to be, particularly when I'm lifting it on the roof racks on my car.
It gets a fair bit of use for Audax rides and commuting and I have to say it's durable. It's very comfortable on longer rides and the handling is very benign. I've been thinking of changing to flat bars and it's interesting to see that Thorn now offer them as an option.
Enjoy the bike.

Thanks!
Peter, it is the 'Trekking' specification which I had built up by SJS but tweaked a bit. I went for the XT chainset, Rigida Grizzly CSS rims on XT hubs. I've also changed seatpost and stem to ones I had previously.
I had a light, drop-bar bike before, but wanted something that could take wider tyres and could carry more. I chose the flat bar, as I hardly ever rode on the drops.
The bike rides beautifully, and I have to say, the service and indeed the whole buying experience I had from Lisa at Thorn/SJS was first class.

Mike,
That does look nice, out of interest, what size frame would that be? I'm considering a 595S, built up with drops.
Thanks,
Steve

Mike,
That's a real classy looking bike. Of all the colours that Thorn do, I think BRG is one of the best. Wish it was available for the 'Sherpa' range of frames.

Thanks Steve. It is a 595L (I am 6ft), but I changed the stem from 130 to 100mm. Fits perfectly now!
