Finally, a picture of my new Raven Sport! I love it. Its the best bike ever. Smooth, quite fast, responsive, and a very comfortable ride
on both tarmac and gravel roads. I use Schwalbe Supreme 1,60 wich i am very satisfied with. So far i have done 374 miles:)
The Rohloff has been very good aswell, a couple of slippage on the gearing thats all, thats not a bad sign i hope? The chain slacked of a bit quite fast but that
is normal aswell? just wondering how long i should wait before adjusting it. Until it almost comes of?
I read in another post about chips in the paintwork when delivered.. My frame had chips aswell... and i do not appreciate it. Hope its not a sign of weak or bad paintwork. I have a question about my rims; Rigida Grizzly css, you can probably see it on the picture aswell, its a lot of spots on the braking surface, is this as it should be?
thanks,
regards

Hi SJ,
What an excellent machine you have - it sounds like you are thoroughly enjoying it!
Regarding the Rohloff slip, mine slipped once or twice (9th gear i think) in the first thousand miles or so and then had a slightly bigger hiccup (to my anxious mind anyway) which concerned me a little too. One oil change later (at 1700 miles) and it has been absolutely faultless since then - another 7000 miles. Apparently tiny bits of swarf from the manufacturing process may still be present and oil flush/change sorts this.
Regarding the chain you will see plenty of posts on the forum recommending leaving the chain until it is really slack - i go along with this completely. I last tensioned mine 2600 miles ago and before that 4000 miles had elapsed. This is road use though with regular cleaning and oiling.
I can't comment on the paint, my RT doesn't suffer from chips although it does have mudguards on it!
Enjoy, anyway the RST, it'll get better and better and better....
Cheers
Gary.
