What is the general opinion of this bike, for general commuting and longish pleasure riding.

Hello,
I had one once. It was brilliant! I went on to more Thorn bikes and love them all. A Brevet was a great bike and should be viewed as an inexpensive way to get a Thorn.
John.

I'll try a bid or two, if I don't succeed I'll go for an Audax MkIII frame and build up my own bike, I've got a load of deore gear off a mountain bike I can use, just need new wheels the correct size.

good luck andywright hope you get your dream bike,if you have most of the gear ,why dont you buy new from sjs,i bought the sherpa frameset and built it up over time, it's a class bike ,and you could upgrade your used gear over time .
