My Thorn Raven Tour as delivered in November 2008 after a visit to Bridgwater to spec it.
Will post more images of the bike as it's now kitted out, but these were taken just after taking it out of the box!
I'm returning to cycling after years of neglect and have to say that the Thorn is everything I had hoped it to be - an excellent investment and a truly quality piece of equipment.

class looking bike, are you going to tour on it chadlington, well done i sure hope you enjoy every pedal stroke.

Plan is to help get fit, enjoy the local rides (all rides in the Cotswolds are a workout!) and then start some longer trips around summer next year. I've got a lot to learn - even back to basics, but the Thorn is so good to ride I'm already having a great time even on short rides (<20m). Timing wasn't so good though - I'd have rather started back in the Spring, but the opportunity only came up later in the year.

I'll be riding over Cotswolds this Sunday n a 200km Audax ride from (and back to) Oxford.
Keep an eye out for a green Raven Tour on the road from Cirencester to Chipping Camden between noon and 3pm. The rider may well be shivering
Nice bike by the way. I went to Bridgewater to buy a red one.

Best of luck, Fred!!

Shiney red and black, very nice.
If you haven't already, wrap a bit of tape round where the pump meets the chainstay. It didn't take long for the paint to come off on mine.

Beautiful looking machine, enjoy!

No, wrap the tape around the pump sticky-out-bits instead.
Actually I wrapped rubber bands around sticky-out-bits
Amazing to think but you now own a bike that you can:
- Go to the shops on
- Do 600km Audaxes on
- Tour the planet on
- Do nice little camping trips on
- Perform hardly any maintenance on
They are great aren't they?
What size Marathons are those?
1.5" Marathons really fly along

Congratulation on you new bike - It looks the part
(As for the pump I stick a bit of old inner tube over the end to protect the frame. As an added bonus it keeps the mud out the inflater nozzle.)
-
Mmmmmmm a lovely looking machine.
The red looks splendid, colour choice seems to cause the greatest problem for those of us who have / are choosing a new Raven!
Enjoy!!
Gary.

very nice looking bike Mike. I saw the red at Bridgewater - the pictures in the brochure don't really do it justice. Although that kick stand looks a little old fashioned by today's standards.

Nice bike Chad. I see you've got a bash guard on the chainwheel. In the light of my recent chain experience I might fit one of those. When's the first tour?!
-
insulating tape...cheap, easy to replace and you can get it in red too

Well there's always more than one way to skin a cat.
But given the choice between making the bits rubbing the paint softer or stopping them touching the paint, I'd choose the latter.
