I'm confused as to the size of this. How do you know it's a 485L? In a sales post in 2017 someone sold a 485L with the wording: "Size 485L. This fits a person from 5ft to 5ft 5in tall. The last photograph is a size table. Look at the third line down to get the measurements." Unfortunately the photos and table are missing. When I look at this ad on FB it states "medium frame 5'5 to 6' " . I had an earlier Sherpa (I think a mark 1) made of Reynolds 525 and it fitted me well; the frame was a 535L with flat bars. I was interested in this one until it seems too small.

I emailed the owner asking the size and he just said it was 'medium' and he was 5' 7" tall. Someone else with a different 485L for sale (with a rare Nuvinci hub) also said he was 5' 7" tall and it was good for him. I drilled down into Thorn's Sherpa brochure for January 2012 ie the Mk2 version. The 485L is listed on the site table as small. Pity as I might have taken it further.

Hi all. I can confirm it is a 485L from the serial number as it's now found a new home!

Apologies for not replying, I must have missed the notifications. I had the seller photograph the BB and figured the sizing codes out from those photos.
If you are the new owner Binky, hope you enjoy!

I am the new owner. I'd discovered the advert whilst researching prices to try and sell a different bike on facebook marketplace, a case of being in the right place at the right time.
