Back in the day we used to call them runners.

Still do. If you put "Guy runners" into google you'll get plenty of options, from the very basic to some quite needlessly complex, from aluminium to glow in the dark plastic...

...to glow in the dark plastic...
My faves as they can be really useful for finding the tensioner (runner), picking out the lines at night to avoid tripping, even spotting the tent when returning from toilet runs. Tip: For the latter, charge them at bedtime with your flashlight or headlight and they'll glow extra-bright all night.
Best, Dan.

Or, pick a name, any name will do.

Thanks folks much appreciated i like the glow in the dark idea I'm as blind as a bat most of the time.ill look on amazon also cycling trousers .I. looking at Altura but 120 to 100 is a bit steep for me.i just finished the new bathroom build so I'm back in the good books.

Saying your blind as a bat Anto makes me wonder what you've done to the bathroom. :D
Re cycling trousers Ive been very happy with a pair of Ron Hills ( the ones with ankle zips and not the ones with foot stirrups )
Something like these:

I use a pair of Corrine Dennis padded shorts underneath but I guess a pair of lycra padded shorts would be OK.
