Does anyone know what years the red/white/blue Special Edition Thorn Brevet were manufactured?
Had a search on the site but couldn't find any info.
Thanks.

Thorn General - ThornModel Brochure - Historical Archive. I couldn't get any photos to load but there's a plenty of text to read.

I've already looked through those but they all seem to be later iterations.

Perhaps this might help...

The OP says... bought from SJS in the late 90's. A Lee Cooper build (serial No prefixed with LA)
I would take it as "late '90s" to maybe 2006. If your serial number prefix is a match, there's a chance the builder may have a record of its specific build date. In reading, Lee Cooper Cycles (as LA Cycles) kept extensive records, but I'm sure they're on paper and not easily searched. Nevertheless, it couldn't hurt to reach out either through a message on their Facebook page...

...or through an email on their blogsite...

If the components are original, they may include a date code to get you an approximate time.
No date information but additional photos here...

Hopefully helpful, Dan.

Thanks very much, Dan. That's very helpful. My frame number ends in 99. So assume that must the year it was built. Same as the other one you linked to.

99 I believe

My old Nomad was an LA too. Lovely bike btw. I think LA were the last iteration of Thorn UK-built frames. Taiwanese after that.
