Title: How can I shrink pictures on Android?

I can't upload the pictures "as is" from the phone because of the 500kB limit.
On my desktop I would use Gimp, but during the tour how can I upload pictures that I took with the phone?

Email it to yourself and use the reduce size option?

What I did at the end was uploading them to Facebook (I did that anyway) and downloaded the pictures from FB which were small enough for the forum.

One method that works on my Android phone is select a photo in Gallery, select Edit, select the 3 dot (extra functions) menu, select resize, select new size, select done, select the 3 dot menu again, then save as copy.
