I guessed on the frame size from the serial number in the posting.

Auction ends Mar 9.

I would assume this is also on Ebay in UK but did not check.

Looks like two bidders pushed up the price at the end.

I had half an eye on this only out of curiosity because the frame is really too small for me. I don’t know if you noticed that what appeared to be almost all the components from the frame  were being auctioned off in separate lots. The total came to roughly £1304 which I dare say is not far off the realisation if the bike had been sold as a whole.

I was not watching details.  I am in USA and check Ebay once a day for thorns, that is all.

That one had S&S couplers, and I do not think I had seen them on a Raven before, I thought they were specific to Nomad Mk I and II.  Perhaps they were added later?

From the ad copy...

...as seen in picture 8 the rear pannier eyelet has shorn off the main frame. There are frame builders that can braze this back on for you, but I don't have the skillset to do so myself....
Ouch, that left an open hole. Going to require a patch first be brazed to the seatstay, then a new rack boss silver-brazed to that.

I've done similar to successfully to repair a crack in an old F-frame Moulton. Not "hard", but does require some time and skill which will add to the cost of the frame. Leaving it open is an invitation to water entry if it has not already happened (hoping the bike has been in dry storage).

As a gentle reminder to all: Keep those rack bolts tight! Loose mounting and continued fretting loads from a rattling rack over time can add to stress on rack mounts. LocTite is your friend. Not a factor in all pull-offs, but one that is easily avoided.

Best, Dan.

Somewhat over-priced given its condition compared with this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thorn-Tourer-Bicycle-/125807340813 which was a bargain.

:o :o :o
I'd have snapped that up at that price and made the trip to fetch, though I'd have triple checked it providence, I'd be wary of a £175 Rohloff bike where the seller doesn't know if it's 7 or 14 gears!
I think the other went for a reasonable amount, of course having two people interested always helps, S&S couplings were £600 last time I looked and that was some years ago.  My Raven frameset sold for a reasonable price and that had had more wear than this one judging from the looks.  I don't know why the seller broke it up to sell all the bits, I did that to a bike last year, but the wheels and gears were of higher value than the bike, whereas I'd have thought a Rohloff specific bike would have more value as a whole.
