Title: Mercury eccentric bottom bracket shell Bolt size
Post by: phopwood on March 04, 2021, 04:00:49 PM
Hi,

Does anyone know the bolt size for the Mercury eccentric bottom bracket shell, I brought my frame without the frame preparation, so no bolts even for the eccentric shell.  I have lots of stainless M4 and M5 cap head bolts for the accessory points on the frame.  But the shell bolts are not M4 or M5.

All the best.

I'm 99% certain it's M5 on the 4 bolt mini EBB Mercury and M6 on the 2 bolt current version.
Though if it was my new frame I wouldn't trust a stranger on the internet however certain they thought they were and wold give SJS a ring to confirm.

PH is correct regarding the two screw clamp on the MK3 Mercury. See page 43 of the following document

Thanks,  You did well to find it in the doc, I had looked and must have looked past it a number of times.  I had emailed thorn, and the bolt in question is M6 20mm.  I have some in the garage.
