Title: Axel ring gaskets
Post by: PH on July 25, 2007, 08:18:22 AM
The kit to change the internal gear cable contains two gaskets.  The hub originally had none and they're not mentioned in the handbook instructions.  It's obvious where one goes, before the outer plate, can't see it as needed but thought I may as well use it.  The other's not so obvious, roughly a 20mm ring a couple of mm wide, I've no idea where it goes, any ideas?

Did the cable fail or is this a precautionary change?

Thanks stutho.
Precautionary, after 15,000 miles I thought I was pushing my luck and I have a tour coming up...

That picture sent me back to the handbook, mine didn't look like that, it seems there was a change in 2003, gaskets no longer required, though the one I fitted won't do any harm.
