Come on then everyone knows a couple of tricks I will start you off
Loctite Freeze & Release Got a problem bolt nut screw or other fastener that just refuses point blank to budge? Too hazardous to heat or too resticted to get the blowtorch on it? Then SHOCK-FREEZE the little blighter. Applying Loctite Freeze & Release shock-freezes rusted, dorroded and seized parts by rapidly lowering the temperature to -43 degrees C ! This has the effect of cracking open the fixing interface with it's captor. The rapid capillary action of the formula rapidly penetrates, lubricates and continues to protect against further corrosion

Got a screw that has be loctited with Thread or stud lock that now you can't undo.
Heat the area screw, Loctite breaks down at 160 Celsius.
-
COPPER GREASE
Use it EVERY time you screw a thread. (Unless you are using thread lock.)

Too late, Stu, this thread was screwed from the beginning: Danger Mouse, do you work for Loctite...? ;-)

Nope sjscycles!

so how do you heat the area without melting the paint

Secure your eccentric BB bolts with one cable tie around them both (I've heard of them working loose).
I'm thinking that this will stop them workingloose/falling out.

Soldering iron to the offending bolt will often do the trick - you don't need to get it too hot before the Loctite start to break down.
