Yes very nice colour and condition too!

Does anyone have a guide as to what a sensible price would be for this one?
I note it has the older Rohloff gear change routing....any problems with that type?
I have a friend looking for a Thorn Raven/Nomad with Rohloff....5'10".....think this would fit.

Hi Stillold,if I was looking for another Thorn bike I would happily pay £1100-£1200 for that, but I'm no expert
-
The price for a new basic spec Raven (the nearest current equivalent) is about £2200. So £1100 would be roughly half the new price for an 11-year old bike, which seems a wee bit expensive.
On the plus side - the Rohloff should be nicely run-in, and the bike looks to be in good condition for its age.

The 587L has a 63cm virtual top tube, that's rather stretched/sporty for someone 5'10", like myself. Mind you I like a fairly relaxed position. I ride a 60cm vtt bike these days with a shortish stem. All this of course depends on leg -arm length ratio. Could fit if your friend has shortish legs and long torso, that way the seat will be lower, closer to the bars, plus long torso can reach further.
That's just my input anyway.

Thanks all....we will watch it and see what happens.

There's nothing wrong with the internal gear cable routing, it just needs replacing every 20,000 miles! In principle I accept that having an ex-box with the cable covered is preferable but in practice it makes little difference. Like mine, it is a 2006 hub but the rohloff shifter looks much less worn than mine. I wonder how old the rims are?

Of my two Rohloff geared bikes one is the "old type" and the other is the "XBox."
Gear changing is much smoother with the old type.
I get "Rohloff wrist" [a yet un classified ailment] using the XBox.
Memo to self - check the grease in the XBox thingy.
