Title: Thorn Sherpa MkII Size 485L. SOLD
Post by: one arm bandit on August 15, 2017, 06:55:05 PM
SOLD

The Thorn Sherpa is a 26" wheel touring bike and has been described as “the most durable, sweetest natured, derailleur-geared, go-anywhere, off the shelf touring bike, obtainable today...irrespective of cost” and “a superb luggage carrying derailleur bike”
The Sherpa is equally at home, whether commuting in badly surfaced city streets or on big adventures in remote places.

Size 485L. This fits a person from 5ft to 5ft 5in tall. The last photograph is a size table. Look at the third line down to get the measurements.

This bike has done very few miles and is in fine condition with just a few small scratches.
The lovely red frame is double butted 969 tubing with 531 forks Cromoly steel.
It’s equipped with:
Shimano Deore front derailleur, brakes, brake levers and hubs.
Shimano Deore LX rear derailleur.
Gearing is 27 speed, 48/36/26 front and as far I remember an 11-32 rear.

Thorn black handlebars with Ergon grips,
Uno stem.
Orbit IIXL headset.
26 inch Rigida Grizzly wheels.
Schwalbe Marathon tyres, 2 inch wide with the little bits of rubber that tell you the tyres have done only a few miles.
SKS Mudguards
Thorn Expedition rack - which is probably the strongest rack there is (£90 new).
Thorn seatpost.
Thorn saddle.
Brand new bottle holder.
Basic flat pedals (not original, old but ok)

Collection is preferred but I can get a price for shipping within the UK if you ask. Cash or BACS payment.

On ebay tonight but I'd rather sell it privately. I don't want to make Ebay any richer.

...and put a carbon fork on it. ;D

It is a lovely machine; the red just glows in the photos!

Wishing best of luck to buyer and seller alike,
