Title: Squeaking Brooks B67 Saddle - Help Please !
Post by: energyman on August 29, 2016, 10:51:45 AM
My B67 saddle squeaks.  ;D
Is there anybody out there who has found a solution to this problem please.
I like the idea of near silent cycling but the squeaking is really annoying.
Thanks.

My Conquest squeaked, until I tightened it slightly. I think it was the slight swaying motion of the saddle that was the squeak instigator. Anyway a half turn or so  of the tension bolt did the trick for me.

If the B67 is a sprung model, there are some metal parts that rub on each other in the front of the saddle.  On my conquest I have used Profide as a lubricant on those parts.

Snap.
But mine isn't so bad yet.
I'll be interested to hear other replies.

My wife suggested I loose weight.

Mine did too so I've lost 1 1/2 stone but it still squeaks,  I've greased all the "movable" parts and I've re-tensioned the front adjuster  to no avail, hence the post as a last resort.

I wonder if any one has ever converted a B67 into a B68 by removing the springs ?

Hello,
The squeak most likely emanates from the nose of the saddle. Try WD 40 or similar between the metal part of the nose (adjuster area) and the leather of the saddle. Wet it out and let the WD 40 (or similar) take the strain.
Good Luck!
Regards,
John
