Vi-brake pipes to prevent kinking the cables and housing as the handlebars turn.

On some (non-Thorn) Rohloff installations, they are used on the external (EX) shift-box to get a better cable entry angle.

Also works great when setting up brifters, so the gear cables don't foul a handlebar bag for touring.  ;)

Those brake levers are not aligned with the teardrop shape grips of the gp5s. Uncomfortable in my experience.
