Haven't seen Thorn decals like those on the step through frame before.

I don't think it is a "real" one, Ian, or at least not one that was designed and sold from Bridgwater.
There is a company using the Thorn name that produces children's and youth bikes; you sometimes see them offered on eBay and they use this font. Look real close at the tube joins; the rolls look more like MiG welding than Thorn's cleanly overlapped TiG beads. Quill stem, lower-quality components, brake bridge is incorrect.
All the best,
Dan.

I thought as much Dan but thanks for confirming. I'd have thought there were patent issues here; reg' trademarks etc. but if the iphone can be a handbag in China what hope is there!

makes me laugh, apple bullied the makers of ipood trowels and made them change their name, they also tried it on it in brazil even though the iphone patent in brazil was applied for a year before the first iphone was announced by apple https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPhone_%281st_generation%29 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPhone_%281st_generation%29), and 6 years before apple tried to get a patent in brazil
