Title: Spreading the Karma
Post by: Matt2matt2002 on May 12, 2016, 03:40:57 PM
Through the Crazyguy site I discovered that Rich and his wife, Molly were flying in to Aberdeen UK from Duluth, Minnesota USA.

They have both toured in USA ( Texas Mississippi Quebec Idaho Washington - not all at once!) so I knew they were experienced folk. But I thought they might appreciate a welcoming face at the start of their tour - so cycled the 19 miles from my home to their airport hotel this morning.

Everything had gone to plan, bikes survived and assembled, a good nights sleep and hearty Scottish breakfast.

I was able to enjoy a brief chat with them and guided them the 4 or 5 miles to the start of the bike path North. They are heading to Inverness and then perhaps Orkney and the Western Isles.
Fly home in 4 weeks from Abderdeen - so maybe meet up to hear about their adventure.

I think they will be keeping a Crazyguy blog so search for Rich Hoeg / NorthStarNerd if intere4sted.

I, for one, will be following along on their journey! Here's hoping they have safe travels.

Matt --

What a great thing to do! When visiting a different country, one of the best experiences is to be met by a friendly native and made to feel welcome.

Thanks Dave
I had plenty of help and assistance on my last tour - so like to return the favours.

In a strange kind of way I think I get as much from the giving as the getting.

Thanks.
I just wish I had a bigger house so I could offer accommodation.
