For anyone who remembers Sean Conway cycling around the world on a Mercury, he's on a mad adventure again - a triathlon round the coast of Britain, cycling from Dorset to Scarborough (the long way round), running from Scarborough to about Brighton, then swimming back to Lulworth Cove. He's on a bamboo bike this time. Progress to date, in 18 days, is to Carlisle (this included the coast of Devon, Cornwall, Wales, Lancashire and Cumbria, with 1500 miles covered so far).
You can follow at http://www.discoveryuk.com/make-your-world-bigger/goseango/ and it makes for compulsive web checking, seeing how the distances mount each day.

Great stuff, Hubs, thanks for posting. 4000 miles of coastline, eh? -- who knew?! Anyone doing anything that starts & finishes in Lulworth gets my support, esp if it includes a bamboo bike. That countryside is close to my heart: my mum and dad met in Lulworth, I was born in Swanage & came to consciousness as it were, in Corfe.

Looks like he managed to get to Cape Wrath light house, last night. I didn't think he was going to make it, he must have got there after dark or right on the dying of the light, I think. Not the ideal weather for it, North wind and blizzards. Looks to be a nice clear sunny day today though.
Unfortunately for him, the wind looks to be backing round to the South just as he starts going back that way. Head winds going North and the same going South, at least it should be warmer for him.
