Title: Thorns in Cartmel
Post by: Swislon on September 29, 2015, 09:57:53 AM
Hi all, I thought I would post a photo of our Thorns as I haven't posted a photo for a while.
We were staying in Grange-over- sands for a few days over the weekend and had two wonderful riding days in the south Lakes.

A fine brace of Thorns in a lovely part of the UK. That brass bell is a bobby dazzler. Given the Indian summer here at present I imagine there are a few more rides to be enjoyed yet.

Very nice to see Thorns in Cartmel.
I used to live a couple of miles away down the valley at Flookburgh.
Brings back some nice memories...

Ha not this time!
We found a fabulous coffee shop called "Cartmel Coffee" in the Square and cycled through Flookburgh on our way to Cartmel.

If you ever go back to Flookburgh then stop at the garden centre and go through to the cafe right at the back of the plot.
Great food, good value prices and cyclist sized portions...

Higginson Pies in Grange are also worth a visit. Some good quiet riding up between Coniston water & the western side of Windermere too.
