Title: I marvel at this...
Post by: Danneaux on September 22, 2015, 03:16:10 AM
Hi All!

This boggles my mind...how is it possible to ride up steps so fluidly *without* pedaling and seemingly without losing momentum?

It seems to be a matter of endless bunny-hopping called "pump-hopping"...

Doesn't always seem to come off, but when it does, it is a thing of beauty, as this clip with slo-mo footage shows:

Best,

Dan.

I think the principle is basically the same as pumping when on a swing. Have you ever tried the standing method outlined here: http://www.besslerwheel.com/wwwboard/messages/435.html - you can get a swing going really scary intense that way!
