Thorn Discovery Tandem
Owned since new, 1996. Changed Suntour brakes for LX V-brakes and Tekro levers.175/170mm cranks set. Shimano tandem hubs f&r. No drag brake, fittings for one. New brake and gear cables and mudguards. Schwalbe marathon tyres. 8-Speed Very good condition for year.
Bad points: 1*r mudguard braze-on has bolt snapped/seized in it. Mudguard and rack sharing braze on. (same story on 1*f.rack mount point.) Paint work in patches is poor, around r. b/b
Size: Sold as L/M I am 6", my wife is 5'4 and it fit us.
£550. Would prefer buyer collect, or I can deliver / meet somewhere within 200 miles with help for petrol. (Glasgow based)
NB: thudbuster seatpost will be replaced for original item. Ortlieb bag mount not included. All other components included. (pedals/toe-cups, mudguards, etc)

Hmmm, this looks like just the bike my partner and I have been dreaming about! Seems awfully impractical to ship it back to the USA. Maybe we should just move to Glasgow? It'd be a fine excuse!

Can't go wrong with either plan, Jim. A lovely bike at a great price. The old saying is true: Things are twice as nice on a tandem! :D

Would you be able to provide the top tube (centre to centre) and seat tube (centre to top) lengths?

Sale agreed in principal. Will update / move if and when its sold.
r.seat tube c/c = 44.5 cm, centre to top of tube 47.5
Effective TT length at the front = 57 cms approx.
Will measure the f.seat tube also.
