Title: Cleaning a chain with solvent degreaser
Post by: in4 on December 30, 2014, 02:50:21 PM
Rummaging around in the shed today I came across my can of engine degreaser and the thought crossed my mind that it might be usefel for cleaning a chain. Good idea or not?

I've used it and then re-lubricated the chain.  No problems.  Just remember to wear your PPE  -  I didn't at first and regretted it.  :)

better to take the chain off ,i keep the chain near enough dirt free all the time when i degreae it  i wash it well with  hot soapy water and dry it off well ,sounds like a lot of work but its only a ten minute job, remember to oil  the chain link by link  ;)

have fun
