Sudden increase in broken glass?
« on: March 30, 2011, 09:04:50 am »
I've started commuting again from Worthing to Bognor Regis along the A259, having not done so for a year or so. There seems to be so much more broken glass on the roads than last year.

Anyone else noticed this?  Have councils cut back on sweeping roads, or are people just breaking more bottles/car windows?

Here in Australia the amount of broken glass has been on the rise for a few years. My commute is land-mined with shattered alco-pop and energy drink bottles. {erhaps I'm being ageist, butthis would seem to be mostly pre-teen and early teen kids getting bored. It saddens me that this 'epidemic' seems to have occured in conjuction with the rise in consumption of these types of drinks.
