Title: Tyre size?? 28 - 622 (28 X 1 1/5 X 1 1/8)
Post by: duds888 on April 19, 2010, 01:45:29 pm
Hi

I'm in the process of fixing my girlfriend's bike up.
She wants white tyres, however I have a feeling the wheel size is an old non-standard size.

The current tyres have the following on the wall:
28 - 622 (28 X 1 1/5 X 1 1/8)

Do they make this size of tyre anymore and if so does anyone know where I can find some in white (not too expensive either)?
If not will any modern sizes fit? Someone said a 700c would but I'm not so sure.

Thanks,
D

28-622 is just a standard 700c tyre in 28mm width (700x28c). So plenty of those about.

Not sure where to get white ones in 28-622 though. Both Dia Compe and Vittoria (and others brands probably) have white tyres in the standard racing tyre width of 23-622 (700x23c).

Edit: It seems Panaracer have a new Pasela white tyre in 28-622. See here: http://www.panaracer.com/urban.php (http://www.panaracer.com/urban.php)
UK Stock here soon maybe: http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=24115 (http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=24115)
