Rohloff hub shifter.
« on: July 15, 2009, 11:05:42 am »
I found by accident a picture of a Toxaholic Rohloff shifter over on Flickr. Looks as if it is a full grip width shifter.I have no interest as I do not have a Rohloff equiped bike. So if you want to take a look its on Flickr over at Yahoo.

Thanks Stutho. Not very good with description, fitting, bar diameter etc are they? I wonder if they are Rohloff approved? 85€ is a lot of money but I don't like  the Rohloff shifter.

There used to be a gallery of photos on the Rohloff site of re-manufactured / bespoke shifters and specialist handlebar so they at least acknowledge the existing of these specialist parts .  (I can't find it on the new web site.)

There are several companies that will make bespoke  Rohloff shifters (for a price) BUT I doubt any of them are actually approved by Rohloff! Have a good nose round on the web - most seam to be German companies.   I am still waiting for a clean solution for drop bars that doesn't involve grip shift ! I wonder if there will ever be one - ho hum!

Hello,
I think a drop bar-bar end shifter similar to Shimano but instead of 9/10 clicks it will have 13/14.

I see the Toxoholics shifter is approved by Rohloff:
http://www.rohloff.de/en/info/faq/faq_detail/index.html?tx_ttnews[tt_news]=661&tx_ttnews[backPid]=285&cHash=e1994fb038

What I can't see is whether the Toxoholics version includes a new shifter mechanism or is merely a grip that attaches to the original Rohloff mechanism. The photos above lead me to believe the former but the picture on this link suggests otherwise. Opinions?

Hi there!
I' m a new member on this forum. I’ve just fixed a Rohloff Hub on my velomobile and It is great. But I don't like the shifter it is not easy to use. I could see on this post this long grip: http://www.toxoholics.de/xtcommerce2/product_info.php/info/p325_Drehgriff-Set-fuer-Rohloff.html
Does any one knows somewhere else to by this grip. It is quit expensive 85€?
Thanks for you future answers. ;)
