Last week I completed a long-awaited first multi-day, loaded tour on my Thorn Sherpa which I collected from SJS in 2009 and brought back to Australia.
The Sherpa worked brilliantly and is, as I'd hoped, ideal for this type of touring.

Congratulations from one out-of-shape cycle-tourist to another now less-out of shape cycle tourist!
Excellent indepth coverage of your tour VT, almost feel like I completed it with you - the pics and narrative provide a great sense of your journey, quite possibly the best report I've ever seen to date, and I've read quite a few!
PS You're clearly a dab hand with what looks like to be a decent camera! If you haven't done so already, I would add your link here, a great forum for researching cycle tours!

Well ridden and well written VT.
Good to see some Australian content.
Cheers,

Thanks Peter, thanks Fred...I am hoping the "House to House on a thorn" journal does encourage at least a few other riders to try the Parliament House to Opera House tour as it offers a lot of variety, and itinerary flexibility, in a relatively short stint. The CityRail services nearby are an added bonus.
And yes...I'll have a look at Trentobike site.
