Nomad Mk3 Rohloff 650b weight limit ?

<< < (2/2)

Chris2020:
I might also have given it more consideration had it's only purpose been heavy touring. It’s my only bike, used daily, rain, snow or shine, on or off road, loaded or not, occasionally for heavy loads, maybe one day for something longer and wilder.  I have 2.25” tires.

Andy Blance did say in Living with a Rohloff  in relation to the 650b the  "The Andra 40 is way too heavy", which I think was probably good advice for my situation anyway. Agreed if its only purpose was for heavily loaded touring I would probably spec'd it differently. I was more concerned now by seeing the 120kg as the Max system weight on the rim specs. These concerns are now alleviated.
Thank you

As PH has already said, if the wheel is well built, it should be quite strong. IMO build quality is more important than the specification of the rim.

All the wheels I have had from Thorn/SJS cycles were well built, unlike many others I have had, which often needed more spoke tension.
