Title: chain spares
Post by: lollipop on October 15, 2007, 12:30:20 pm
is it possible to find extra bits to add onto a chain?

I recently had by chain replaced with a half link and it's great but I want to go from 46/16 to 46/17 and my mechanic didn't keep the spare bits.

Any clue where to look or do I need to fork out for another chain?

thanks

For some sad reason I always keep my spare bits of new chain. Can't explain why.  I was hoping that I might have the bits you need - but it was not to be.

Have you considered changing the chain-ring instead of the spur gear?

Hi Stutho

Many thanks for trying!! Looks like the bike will get put in the shed for a while anyhow, work has moved me up to Milton Keynes for a few weeks so it's not as urgent as before.
My chain ring is new too...was gonna go for a 17 till my knees can take the strain!
