Tire damage dangerous?

Does this damage to a Marathon Schwalbe tire look dangerous.  There is similar damage on the other side from suing metal tire lever.

Thanks - the metal isn't damaged, I just cut through the rubber when removing with metal tyre levers.  Sounds llike you are certain it is unusable.

Is there any virtue in test fitting?

is it the bead thats ripped or sidewall. if its just the bead glue it back with superglue that should  hold it.get rid of those metal leavers you can get good plastic one sorry cant think of make, or even roll the tyre off without leavers takes a bit of practice but it can be done .check out the video on spa cycles on how to fit a tyre

Frankly, I would not use plastic tire levers. I would endorse metal ones covered with a plastic or rubber cover but, unfortunately, my Park Tools TL-6 levers just bit the dust when putting on a Schwalbe Marathon.

I'm going to email PT and see what they say.

I would recommend Schwalbe's own plastic levers (the short and stuby ones). The're just the trick for getting marathon plus tires on, a job I could never manage with the el-cheapo plastic levers.
