John,

My good man I am drawn to the Fratello!
How does it compare to the Thorn Audax Mk3?
Is the ride similar or can you detect differences?

Also how does the Audax compare to the Club Tour?

Cheers Steve

John,
It's good that you can get such a range of bikes to fit you well. From your inseam and height measurements you seem to have long legs for your height. Do you have correspondingly long arms? Many measurements to take into account when calculating bike fit.

Hello,
The particular Fratello shown has been gone a while. But, I have another, same colour, same size (!) but different tube. Its now Columbus whereas the earlier was Dedacciai .
I will not compare it on the site because this is after all a Thorn site for Thorn cyclists really, but I will say I no longer own a Thorn Audax.
I will post pictures at a later date of my new Fratello, on my webpages.
Keep looking because I will be updating my tent pictures too.

The Audax against the Club Tour you ask? No comparison as the Tour is heavier more stable (?) and longer in legs!
Best regards,
John

Hello,
I used to be 2 inches taller but an accident (Motorcycle) left my back (spine) approx 2 inches shorter. So normal length legs and arms, short back.
I hope this helps ?
Regards,
John

Spine damage. Lost 2 discs!
It hurts all of the time and I take Gabapentin maximum daily dose of 3600 mg.

Ouch, you've been through the wars, good on you for keeping up with the cycling. I'm curious, do you find that you bike fit has changed since the accident? I'd guess that you need frames with a shorter top tube than you used to?

The discs were hurt and gradually leaked and compressed over a number of years. I got sorter gradually but it was not until about 10 years ago that the 2" reduction really noticed. Something to do with age related shrinkage too!
Shorter top tube, yes. Higher bars, yes.
Longish legs, normal (?) length arms, but short back.
That as the saying goes is it.
Thank you for reading and no doubt learning.
Best regards,
John
