Which is better, Thorn Mid or Lo front rack?

Hi, I got a new Raven this year and didn't spec a front rack because I had a new Old Man Mountain hi-lo rack waiting to go on. Having fitted the OMM, I don't think I'll stick with it. it's largely aesthetics; the OMM looks like a dog's breakfast on the Raven and it is about an inch wider each side than it needs to be. So, get a Thorn.

I like the looks of the trad lo-rider Thorn makes. But is the new mid-rider a better bet? I can see it's more accessible when you're on the bike, and it must weigh less, but it puts the weight higher and heaven knows what it does to the point of balance. Anyone have any guidance as to which is best?

I have both the Expedition and the lighter mid fitting lo rider front racks. The Expedition will carry a ton of stuff (on my Nomad) but the mid loder looks neater but carries less.
Its swings and things here!
