How old is my new Thorn Voyager Childback
« on: October 02, 2013, 12:01:24 am »
Really excited, picked up our new Thorn childback today (well new to us), bought on ebay. In good condition and has been upgraded with drops and bar end shifters, the same arrangement as the Jack Taylor which I am selling to pay for the Thorn. It should be good for a few years school runs, day trips and holidays for my 6 year old and myself. It has a screw missing off the rear handlebar mount and a couple of fasteners off the chainrings. I should be able to get these of SJS unless anybody has them for sale or suggestions? Rear wheel is slightly out of true but can soon put that right.

I have no idea how old it is, can anybody tell just from a frame number. It has the solid 'THORN' decals on the bottom tube.

Frame Number: LK9806002

Does that mean it was made by a craftsman with the initials LK, in June 1998 and it was the 2nd one he or she made that month?.....or am I very sadly mistaken!
