Brooks issue a new Despatch for Jul 2013
« on: July 18, 2013, 02:43:30 am »
Hi All!

Brooks have issued a new Despatch for July 2013; it can be viewed here:
http://us1.campaign-archive2.com/?u=779d0fc02cc4843db052687bf&id=f5297246b4&e=5e454051e8

I found this one very lacking compared to past Despatches, being seemingly just a sales flyer. Unlike earlier issues of the newsletter itself, there are no profiles of riders and their adventures, videos, or much in the way of historical information. I'm saddened Brooks seem to be going down the purchasable lifestyle road, but it is likely necessary for revenue. If you dig around in the tabs at the top of their website, some of the former goodness comes to light with interesting and entertaining content.

Nevertheless, there is news:
• The new cotton-over rubber Broos Cambium saddle is available for regular purchase now, with orders shipped in September. Only a Limited Edition will be available now, but an entire range of this sort will be available in the future.
• There is a limited-edition Bike Messenger special Team Pro saddle in a very attractive and unique fiery red with custom embossing that would look very nice indeed on a red Thorn Audax or would nicely compliment a stealthy matte black Thorn. Gray suede shoes are available to match, complete with red laces.
• The North American "Dashing" Brooks bike show is summarized, along with a calendar of events and appearances.
• The Challenge all-leather under-saddle tool bag has been enlarged and is a pretty thing, though might not stay so for long with continued exposure to weather.

Best,

Dan.
