This is truly marvelous! I keep wondering how they managed to suspend the tools and allow them to "take flight" -- monofilament fishing line?

I was multitasking as I watched it, so may have missed a critical point, but it appeared to me he was using a Shimano Alfine-hubbed front wheel at the end, in place of the standard disc front hub. Was this as a backup in case the Rohloff didn't work out somehow?  Puzzling. I'll (have the excuse to) watch again!
