Dumfries and Galloway area?

(1/2) > >>

Pedaldog:
Wossa flavour on camping there, mainly out of "Normal" season as I am thinking of October time.
Brought to mind when thinking bout a friends wife that died a week or so ago. The last time we spoke she was enthusing about the area and I have never looked around there.
Any ideas, tips, advice, insults etc are welcomed!

pberrey:
I've never camped or cycled around there (this will be a useful post then!) but whenever I've passed through on motorcycles it has been extremely windy in winter....

Still, exposure hasn't killed me yet - go for it, just pack a woolly hat.

Paul.

Pedaldog:
Iff'n I got to Dumfries and set myself up for a night in B+B, which way to go from there?
Are campsites still open and are they plentiful in the area?
Looking at setting off later next week with a bit o fluck.
Any help appreciated!

Pedaldog:
UPDATE!!!
Didn't go in October and now I've got a broken arm in plaster so I will leave it until April time and use a special date as a start point.
Looking for ideas and info but still to do with camping or cheap hostels etc.

Pedaldog:
Looks like I'll be doing it on the recumbent as the arm isn't good for uprights!
Still would like ideas and camping information though!
