Mirrors
« on: November 11, 2009, 06:32:54 am »
I like to have a mirror on my bikes. Does anyone have experience of a mirror on a Thorn comfort bar? If so, what kind works best? I'm guessing that for the same reason bar ends are discouraged on comfort bars, a mirror such as the Mirrycle fixed to the end of them would be a bad idea. Would a mirror attached to the handlebar inboard of the grips (and of the Rohloff shifter, if there is one) be the best solution? If so, which particular mirror?

Also, does anyone know whether the "Mirrycle road mirror for STI" sold by SJSC can be fitted to drop bars that have bar end shifters rather than STI?

I use a B&M Star mirror which is mounted into the right hand end of my Thorn Comfort Bars.
The mirror comes with a plug and a band type of fitting.
On another bike with bar ends, I have the same model of mirror fitted with the band type fitting around the corner where the bar and bar end meet.
Both work for me.

Any mirror with a plug type fitting is likely going to fit in the end of comfort type bars.
