Any suggestions to set up a nomad to be fast
« on: February 22, 2008, 07:16:06 pm »
Hi,

Any suggestions to set up a nomad tourer to be fast?

I hope to to do vattern rundan(300K ride, http://www.vatternrundan.se/) in the summer, I could take a racer over and whip (amen) around, but I am planning not to use a plane to arrive there. Also I plan on touring a bit over the years ahead, hence I phoned up SJS about buying a nomad. Which I'll buy next week on pay day.
I have used/own Rohloff's and I plan to use something like 44-15(rohloff). I am pretty strong and can push the top gear with 42-16 when on a 'MTB'. Now is 44-15 sufficient on a pretty flat course, I plan to use drop bars(mainly for the laugh), btw I do have normal bars awaiting this bike. I could use 50-15/16, with the spare kit I have.  Beyond thus I really do not not want to play around, as I really do not want to spend any more money.  However, thoughts please.

Also beyond my obsession with drive train, any other tips( and reason)?
seats? etc.

Thanks in advance
