Does this rim have the same surface as the ryde Sputniks? Also I have Thorn with Carbide supersonic css coated rims. Marked rigida. IE have they (Adra 30) had tungsten carbide fired at it at so many times the speed of sound.
Thanks

I have never used Sputnik, it is my understanding that Rigida became Ryde.  When i ordered my Nomad rims, I ordered Rigida but I was shipped Ryde rims, that was in 2013.

I do not understand your question(s)?

Found them at last. They are the same. Tungsten carbide fired at 5 times the speed of sound.  On Sputnik and andra 30.

There are both CSS and non CSS versions of the Andra, not sure if Sputnik was ever CSS, (or were, Ryde no longer produce any CSS versions of any rims).

You can blame disc brakes for that!

The only rims I think that you can still purchase with the Carbide CSS coating are direct from idworx at the link below. They are idworx own branded DaRim III model, which could be manufactured by Ryde for them I'm not sure, and have a considerable larger price tag compared to what SJScycles sold the Andra 30 CSS rims if I remember. The DaRim rims come on their current lineup, the Off Rohler Evo and Easy Rohler Evo bicycles in 26" and 28" size respectively. Both nice Rohloff touring bikes but their rim brake mounting system is proprietary for Magura brakes which puts me off them.

SJS still sells Andra 30 CSS rims. I see that they no longer have the Andra 30 "Rohloff-drilled" rims in CSS, only in non-CSS.

Grizzlys also still available from SJS in both 700c and 26"
I have three in 700c, two front on SON dynamos and a rear derailleur hub, all doing fine and have but in enough mileage to have paid for themselves several times over.  I had a forth, built onto a Rohloff, it didn't do so well, cracking around some of the spoke nipples after a couple of thousand miles.
